California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010
The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010 requires manufacturers and retailers doing business in the state of California to disclose information regarding their efforts to eradicate slavery and human trafficking from their direct supply chains. Supply Chain Verification
AlysEdwards Tile & Stone® strives to ensure that our purchasing decisions are not supporting vendors or suppliers engaged in any form of human trafficking in their production and supply chain processes. AlysEdwards Tile & Stone® is currently evaluating the most effective ways to verify product supply chains to address risks of human trafficking and slavery.
Supplier Audits
AlysEdwards Tile & Stone® is currently evaluating the most effective ways to conduct audits of suppliers to ensure supplier compliance with company standards for trafficking and slavery in supply chains.
Supplier Certification
AlysEdwards Tile & Stone® requires all of its contract manufacturers and suppliers to sign our Anti-Human Trafficking Letter to continue the business relationship. The letter provides a definition of human trafficking and the various forms of labor trafficking. It also requires each supplier to verify that their production processes and supply chains comply with the human trafficking laws of the countries in which they are doing business and do not involve any form of forced labor.
Internal Accountability Standards
AlysEdwards Tile & Stone® desires to operate business in accordance with the highest ethical standards and applicable laws. Our Ethics Policy (included in every new employee handbook) requires all employees to comply with all applicable laws, including those regarding slavery and trafficking. Employees who do not comply with the law or who violate the Ethics Policy are subject to disciplinary action, which includes termination of employment. AlysEdwards Tile & Stone® has ensured that any of its internal policies meet the appropriate laws against human trafficking and human slavery.
Training
AlysEdwards Tile & Stone® trains our employees responsible for supply chain management on human trafficking. The purchasing department and product managers at AlysEdwards Tile & Stone® have received training on the types and signs of human trafficking.
AlysEdwards Tile & Stone® Legal Counsel has participated in extensive trainings on human trafficking through various organizations throughout the past decade and currently volunteers with the Orange County Human Trafficking Taskforce (OCHTTF). Our Legal Counsel has organized conferences on the topic, trained numerous community-based organizations, and assisted in the implementation of various advocacy and aftercare programs to support victims.
All of the AlysEdwards Tile & Stone® fleet truck drivers have received certified training through the organization, Truckers Against Trafficking.
